The goal of the event is to bring together management scholars from different disciplines and with different perspectives on platform management and competition. Too much of the traditional debate has focused on just economics, which is typical a theoretical debate about pricing/market structure. Business scholars across IS, marketing, and strategy have expanded the inquiry to think of issues such as decisions to focus on mechanisms and processes of platform working, including targeting, segmentation and other value creation strategies. The event will be closed door with no more than 30 participants, and operate under Chatham House rules, to foster a deep-dive discussion.
